Inaugural Hack4Sac Event Wins Digital Government Achievement Award
The Center for Digital Government recognized Hack4Sac, the County’s first civic-technology engagement event, with their 2016 Digital Government Achievement Award in the category of “Driving Digital Government.” The County’s Hack4Sac event used technology to re-conceptualize, transform and digitize the way government interacts with customers and the public. The multi-week hackathon encouraged participants to build solutions using the County’s open data sets to help our community and resulted in nine teams submitting 13 complete, mature technology solutions.
Department of Human Assistance Accepted The Center for Digital Government Award for SMART
The 2016 Digital Government Achievement was awarded for the Department of Human Assistance’s web-based case management and workflow support tool. This custom designed, developed, and implemented Service Management and Reporting Tool (SMART) was recognized for identifying tasks for specific casefiles, assigning these tasks evenly across Service Center employees, and then tracking the lifecycle of each task to closure. SMART has built in fraud detection, reduces error rates and has increased worker efficiency – along with producing real-time reports to review staff performance, service delivery and program savings. With this innovative technology, the County is reducing costs while improving services to clients.
Sacramento County Wins 3rd Place for 2016 Digital Counties Survey
Sacramento County strives to make life better for all its residents and business owners by using technology in innovative ways. The Center for Digital Government’s 2016 Digital Counties Survey recognized these efforts and placed Sacramento County in third out of hundreds of U.S. counties. The Digital Counties Survey provides an annual measure of county performance and innovation in using technology. Learn more.
Sacramento County Wins 2015 Best of the Web
For the Department of Technology, to be the “best of the best” has always been the goal for the County’s website, and over the years it has been fortunate to be in the top five. But, 2015 is the year Sacramento County receives first place honors from e.Republic's Center for Digital Government Best of the Web Award. The annual Best of the Web Award is in its 20th year and remains the most popular state and local government website competition. Every year government organizations throughout the country look to the top five Best of the Web winners as a benchmark of outstanding government portals and websites. Sacramento County Wins Tech Savvy Designation
The County is one of three jurisdictions nationwide to be presented with the Public Technology Institute (PTI) 2015 Tech Savvy Designation for a culture of excellence and meeting or exceeding all of the following: Ethics Adherence; Performance Management Practices Embraced; Department Directors Regularly Promote Communication/Collaboration around IT Solutions; Professional Development Encouraged; Jurisdiction-Wide Technology Plan Created; Active Training/Awareness of Cybersecurity; Enterprise-wide Green Technology Initiatives; Embrace a Culture of Technology Innovation; and Adhere to a Stated Standard of Excellence. 3rd Nationally for Best Technology Initiatives
DTech helps Sacramento County move up a slot to again achieve top ranking for its commitment to engaging citizens and businesses and streamlining operations using technology initiatives. The Center for Digital Government's 2015 Digital Counties Survey places Sacramento County in third out of hundreds of U.S. counties vying for a spot in this vigorous measure of technology performance and innovation. Only those counties revealing best practices and developing trends in their use of technology are fortunate enough to be considered as a top qualifier. Best of the Web and Digital Government Achievement Awards – Center for Digital Government
The Center for Digital Government announced Sacramento County’s website took second place honors in its 2014 Best of the Web Award, County Portal category. For 19 years they have recognized cities, counties and states throughout the U.S. for their outstanding portal websites. In addition, the county was recognized for the Best of the Web Digital Government Achievement Award, which looks at projects at the application and infrastructure level. Public Technology Institute Tech Savvy Designation
Sacramento County is one of four counties nation-wide to be presented with the Tech Savvy designation. The PTI Local Government Tech Savvy Designation Award Program recognizes members that meet a list of criterions where technology is used to address issues, current challenges and future opportunities across the enterprise.
